These Diamondback 'generic' Cr-Mo replacement bars have a sturdy feel, the welds look well done, and the gloss black finish looks very good. The cross-bar is actually bigger OD than the main bar and is ovalized at the ends for fit, which is kind of cool. The only down-side, which I already suspected based on the price (and all straight-gauge construction) is that the weight is NOT 1 lb, 12oz as stated in Amazon and other places on the web.
These bars weigh 2 lb, 5oz. If you are counting every oz., you will likely have to pay a lot more to get lighter ones this size. To me, the sturdiness counts more and they are a great deal. I know full well that these are more designed towards BMXing than mountain biking but that orange just pops so I had to go with these.
I am very impressed by the quality and fit. Installed easily with a bit of my wife's hairspray and feel like they are glued on now. Very comfortable, very grippy, and they look super sharp.
These combined with the diamond back gloves I got are the perfect combo! One thing not obvious to me is that these DO come with screw caps for your handlebars as well, basic black plastic anchors, nothing over fancy or flashy but boy do they do the trick they are in there tight!! (one more tip hairspray and a hammer are handy here) Word of warning if you want these for your mountain bike too, you may need to cut off the flange on the inside part of the grip like I.
